Okay, so I do almost everything on my mobile devices—art, planning, notes, writing, you name it. But when it came time to use those same apps on my desktop, it was like hitting a brick wall. Some of them don’t even exist on desktop. Others want me to pay again for the same app I already own. (Rude.) And I recently switched up from Windows 10 to Windows 11 sso some of my curmudgeonly old apps aren't even compatible anymore. (Really effing rude)
So I did a thing.
I installed Bluestacks on my desktop—a free Android emulator—and loaded up all my regular mobile apps. Same ones I already know, already paid for, already love. Now I can use them full-screen with a mouse or my Huion Kamvas drawing monitor like a giant Android tablet.
Boom.
No more transferring files between devices.
No relearning weird desktop UI layouts.
No duplicate app purchases.
Just cloud sync, drag-and-drop, and I’m good.
I can run my favorite art apps on my Kamvas while my main monitor plays video references, music, or my current hyperfixation YouTube rabbit hole.
Is this old news to some people? Maybe.
Was it a game-changer for me? Absolutely.
So if you’re a mobile-first creator, artist, planner, or neurospicy multitasker like me—this setup might be exactly the magic trick you didn’t know you needed.
